tl;dr: Both the male and female Avatars exist. They're twins. Both are named Robin, because Validar is a Shit Dad, but Lissa nicknamed the girl 'Wren' to make things less confusing and it stuck. Wren's son is named Marc.
THE STORY
THE STORY
- Each twin was born carrying an equal half of Grima's power. In the original timeline, it was the female Robin that murdered Chrom. She then killed her brother to take his portion for herself and become the Fell Dragon. When chasing Lucina and co. back in time, Grima inadvertently attempted to possess both twins due to his soul still being split among them, and failed, wiping out both of their memories.
- Thus, when Validar introduced the group to his 'hierophant', they were met with a woman identical to Wren who introduced herself as Robin. With the reveal that Validar is their father, this caused Chrom to speculate that perhaps they were triplets rather than twins (depressingly plausible, really, seeing how they already both share the same birth name...).
- Morgan and Marc were found together within the Ruins of Time. It caused a bit of a stir, because unlike her brother — and most of the army at that point — Wren had yet to get into any kind of a relationship, and Marc's blue hair fueled speculation that Chrom was cheating on his wife with her. That wasn't the case, of course; his father is actually Priam. Robin figured that out pretty much immediately upon meeting him, but Wren didn't catch on until she actually began developing feelings for him.
(Feel free to ignore this part for meme purposes!I ship her with pretty much everyone so I wouldn't want to limit my options.) - It was Robin that Validar used to steal the Fire Emblem (because he happened to be closer to Chrom at the time). Both twins felt pretty darn bad it about it, though. When Lucina confronted them that night, Wren found herself swayed by her words and was ready to accept her judgment, while Robin objected. Fortunately, before they could start bickering with Falchion at their throats, Chrom intervened.
- When the 'hierophant' revealed her true identity, she twisted the knife a little further by revealing that she had killed her brother to become Grima, something that didn't quite make it into their premonitions.
- We... haven't quite figured out endgame yet oops but it's probably a safe bet that they sacrificed themselves to end Grima together and lived cause Power Of Friendship, bitch.
- Wren's preferred class is Dark Flier. Her pegasus is named Catria, after one of the legendary pegasus knights of old (though honestly, she mainly picked the name just because she liked the sound of it).
- When it comes to tactics, she and her brother are on the same wavelength to a vaguely frightening degree. They don't actually have a twin mind-link or anything like that but it sure seems like they do sometimes.
- When Frederick expressed his suspicions of the duo during their first meeting, Wren's immediate response was "If we were lying, don't you think we'd have come up with a more believable story than this?"
